In Racine, Wis., Sept. 27, of Cholera, after 24 hours
of extreme suffering, Mr. ABRAHAM ZOLLER, aged 36 years, 4 months and 12
days. The deceased was formerly a member of the Universalist Society at Ford's
Bush, Minden and in a later day, of the one at Little Falls, in both of which
he held great influence. He was a dry goods merchant in the former place,
and in the latter a dealer in books, drugs, and medicines. In these avocations
by uprightness of conduct and honest deal he won the confidence and friendship
of all with whom he dealt, which was no small circle. His Christianity taught
him to build on the foundation of God and right. He lived and died a good
man, loved by all who knew him... Rev. A[lfred] C. Barray attended the funeral
which was held at the Universalist church at
Racine.(
He was a son of Jacob
and Katherine Ehle Zoller; grandson of John Christian Ehle and Maria Lipe;
great-grandson of Johannes Ehle) (Christian Ambassador,
Auburn NY, 28 Oct 1854)
In Fordsbush, Nov. 23, ELIZABETH ZOLLER, aged thirteen
years and two days. Death has visited this family under circumstances of
peculiar trial. The deceased was endeared to the whole community by her patient
and lovely disposition, her kind and amiable qualities of character. But
the heroic fortitude with which her sickness was borne, more than endeared
her to the family circle. Three days before her death - after consenting
to an amputation the probablilites of which were adverse to a successful
result, and under which she died - she calmly called for her worsted and
paper, and worked the phrase, "When shall we meet again?" as if realizing
that soon her body would be out of pain, and her spirit out of prison. Her
funeral was observed on Saturday, in the Fordsbush church, on which occasion
I was kindly assisted in the services by Rev. Hemperly, Lutheran. [Signed,]
G.W.S. [Rev. George W. Skinner]. (Christian Ambassador, Auburn NY,

She was
daughter of John I. and Eliza Sanders Zoller; grandaughter of Jacob and Katherine
Ehle Zoller; great-grandaughter of John Christian Ehle and Maria Lipe;
great-great-granddaughter of Johannes Ehle)
Obituary [slightly abridged]. A notice of the death of
Jacob V. [I.?] Zoller, who departed this life on the 8th of June last, in
the town of Minden, aged eighty-six years, should have appeared in the
"Ambassador" at an earlier date, but as it was unintentionally omitted, you
will please give this a place as early as possible. The subject of this notice
was a man of remarkable vigor and firm constitution, and by his strict honesty,
untiring industry and constant frugality, he had created for himself a
comfortable and beautiful home, in which he had reared a large family of
children, whom he lived to see affluently settled in life, an honor, truly,
to their aged parents. Mr. Zoller was always a firm believer in the doctrine
of God's impartial grace, and always contributed to the extent of his ability
in support of the gospel; was an attentive listener to the preached word
[whose] constant presence was to the preacher a benediction... His venerable
form is greatly missed at church and in his home, and in the community where
he resided. He told me frequently that his work was done - that in his advanced
age he had nothing to attach him to earth; still he desired to wait with
patience the hour when he should be at rest. There was nothing to him, he
said, dark or forbidding in the future; all was bright and inviting; and
as he drew near the end of his eartly pilgrimage, his glorious faith was
his support... He has left an aged companion with whom he had lived over
half a century, and who has recently followed an only sister to the grave.
May the gospel in its fullness, and the grace of God in its power, abundantly
sustain the widow, children, and all the relatives in their bereavement.
[Signed,] H.H.B.

In Minden, March 16, 1862, Mr. JOHN ZOLLER, aged 72 years. The subject of this notice was a man of industry and good habits, and had honestly acquired a handsome property, and had seen his children grow up to manhood and womanhood in the maintenance of virtue and comfortably and happily settled about him. He was an independent, outspoken, plain-hearted man. He despised hypocrisy and deceit, and although some might have thought little of his sternness of character, more admitted his frankness and dignity of life. May the widow and the fatherless lean upon Him who is their support and the God of their salvation. [Signed,] H.H.B. (Christian Ambassador, Auburn NY, 19 Apr 1862)
In Minden, July 30, MARY E., daughter of Henry Z.and Barbary A. ZOLLER, aged 7 years, 2 months and 2 days. Thus has a tender flower of beauty and innocence been torn from the embrace of its parents, brothers, sisters... A large funeral procession followed her remains to the grave, which was wet by the tears of a great mourning circle. A sermon... containing consolation and comfort... was preached by S. C. (Christian Ambassador, Auburn NY, 12 Aug 1854)
